japan hokkaido, day 5 – lake toya . fresh soba koyo-tei . sapporo . suage

Breakfast at the resort!

And I tried natto for the first time. The taste is alright, just the slimy texture is quite difficult to accept.

It’s raining again.

Heading to Sapporo!

Stopped by Hoheikyo Dam but it was closed due to gale. The place around the carpark is still pretty though.

Lunch at Fresh Soba Koyo-tei. Their menu is hand drawn! So pretty!

So good! The texture of both hot and cold soba is really different. Cold soba has the al dente bite while hot soba is soft and breaks easily. I prefer cold soba.

Snacks on the go.

Finally in Sapporo! First we stroll at Odori Park.

Wanted to take a break at this cafe but there wasn’t any available seats.

See! It’s so pretty inside!

Went to Oniyanma Cafe instead.

They roast their own coffee beans.

Our airbnb for 3 nights.

Rest and then it was time for dinner. Going to try Suage’s Soup Curry.

I opted for fried chicken. It was so fragrant and juicy. Fried chicken will never go wrong when in Japan.

The soup curry tasted like minestrone soup though. Hahahaha! Nothing like our usual curry.

japan hokkaido, day 3 – hakodate asaihi (morning market), red brick warehouse, motomachi

Starting our day at the market.

There are loads of seafood sold here but we do not think the prices here are good. There are stalls that mark up the prices and when you pass by, they will offer you the original price and claim it as a discount.

We bought a slice of melon to share and I almost dropped it. 😅

Cool drain cap.

Found a place for lunch.

I had the scallop, uni and fish roe rice bowl! It was good but just somehow not as good as the one I had at Tsukiji Market.

Hakodate Bay’s Red Brick warehouse.

It’s a really beautiful place for picture taking.

Most of the shops here sell home decorative items or gifts, like musical boxes, dream catchers, famous cartoon characters collectables…

Ice-creamed at Lucky Pierrot.

Headed to the Motomachi area, went pass a few pretty houses.

Visited an owl shrine, the view here is pretty.

Continued walking to a church.

It’s very very pretty inside the church but do keep very quiet and no photography is allowed.

Going back to the car.

Lunch at Kantaro Sushi.

Many choices to choose from.

Green tea powder.

Back in hotel for a nap.

Dinner at the restaurant opposite our hotel, The Very Very Beast. The rating looks good.

Moved to Hakodate Beer Hall next.

Ice cream again!

Up we go to Mount Hakodate!

Be careful went going up or down the hill, there was a fox in the middle of the road while we were going down.

asia grand . ginza barin

Travelled all the way to Asia Grand to have lunch together with Rain. She has staff discount! 😁

This beef stomach looks like honeycomb.

No idea what to have for dinner and we ended up at Ginza Barin because there’s offer if we redeem selected meals via J.Passport.

Missing the oyako don in Kyoto again. 😅

This is yums!

New sneakers from Rubi. I only wanted to get one and the cashier says, one for $15, if you get 2 more, it will be 3 for $15. Spend same amount but get different quantity, so I bought 2 more. 😂 Only this kind of sneaker is comfortable, the rest feels cheap.

To add some calming aroma therapy in the office.

Another farewell at Manzoku. Woo.. I got the Buta don from the set lunch menu, just look at the juicy fats. It’s really tasty and I will probably be back for more.

Comes with all of these.

japan day 4 – okinawa . arts museum

Breakfast again! Sorry, I promise this will be over once I leave Okinawa tomorrow. 🙇

Porridge today! See that heap of mentaiko?

Mentaiko porridge! 🎉

Eggs in fish on a bed of eggs.

Yoohoo! Mentaiko toast! I’m so gonna have mentaiko everything tomorrow.

I bought this last night. I hope it helps maintain some of my weight and don’t gain too much during these 2 weeks.

My face rounder, right? Right?
Omg. 😱

We’re going to explore the area around the hotel.

Wefie. 👫

Here’s a clearer picture of the hotel.

Arts museum next.

The building itself is an art.

Taking a look at the history of Okinawa. ¥440 per pax but if you have the monorail passes, it’s only ¥330.

Wooo… nice…

Small bird.

Skeleton of manatee aka dugong. They really have ‘hands’!

Lol lol. Human chasing the deer.

Shellfish that boiled. 😂 Very helpful, thanks.

I thought they looked the same but actually has so many different types. 😞

This one so cute! It’s a water dropper. Don’t know drop for what.

Flourescent stones.

This mall has toy’r’us and a supermarket.

To the next mall! That’s just beside the previous.
This place has Muji, Uniqlo, Daiso and a very big sports shop. We bought quite a few stuffs here and I managed to find green tea powder for baking in the supermarket!

We had lunch in the foodcourt.

TC’s curry rice.

And mine, the loco moco.

Why their plants so pretty one? Why?

This bag is so so so pretty, can. Omg. I had to psycho myself so much… I don’t want to spend $50 on a bag that I may not use often.

Travelled back to Main Place.
Bought juices.

White peach was yummeh. Blueberry was alright.

Bought rockmelon for ¥380! Quite expensive but nevermind. They even have the sweetness of the melon indicated.

Unloaded and rested in the hotel for an hour before we head out.

Dinner at the shopping street. Couldn’t find anything to eat, although I wanted BBQ initially but it’s so common everywhere. Okinawa food restaurants are everywhere too…

We ended up at A&W again and we totally don’t mind at all. Lol.
Yeah!!! We got one float each! Which we probably regretted later.

I ordered the A&W burger, while TC had the same thing again. This is so so so sooooooo good. The beef patty was well grilled, plus the bacon… perfect! The cheese was alright but it was too thick, very jelak for me.

Float selfie!
