bangkok day 2 – chatuchak . featherstone cafe bistro

Starting the day with a Cha Tra Mue milk tea before we start our shopping at Chatuchak.

My must-have grilled pork and fried chicken.

One of the best buys at Chatuchak, I customised a tote bag for myself! There’s also t-shirts, mugs and caps.

Lunch at the market outside Centralworld.

Did so much shopping.

Legs are dying.

Tea break at McDonald’s, trying their new spring roll pie. Really is just spring roll with a different ‘crust’.

Dropped our bags at the hotel and out we go for dinner at Featherstone Cafe. Going to meet the guys who arrived in Bangkok today.

It’s a very beautiful place.

Took a look around the whole cafe while we are waiting for the food to come.

There’s an area spelling trinkets, healing stones and hats.

Look at the drink! This is Wild Gardenia, got this because of the colourful ice cubes. I feel like Alice in Wonderland.

The ladies shared a Vongole and a Bacon & Egg Pizza.

Food was good overall but the braised beef cheek which was from their new menu wasn’t, so that was a risk.

Too early.

First time we had to take the airport shuttle to board out planes.

Once we have left our luggage at the hotel, we went to get some snacks at 7-eleven, as the Greyhound Cafe at Siam Center isn’t opened yet. Yes, we arrived Bangkok very early.

Decor in Greyhound Cafe was beautiful. Loved the greens.

The food wasn’t as good as we expected though. Beef was chewy tough and pork was a little tad dry. Drinks was alright but I wouldn’t go back for just the drinks if the food wasn’t good.

First purchase of the day! A tiger eye crystal bracelet.

Massage done.

Then it was dinner at Pla Thong Mookata. It was the girl’s first time having mookata in Bangkok.

Starbucks Reserve at Central World.

Finally got to see our hotel room at the end of the day.

Although the toilet looks like it was build to be shared. One side toilet, the other side shower but there’s only one door which slides to whichever side that was in use. *face palm* Door was quite translucent too, can see shape and colour, so we can’t even use the basin while somebody is showering or pooping or peeing.

Saw this in the Starbucks store and I really wanted it. Got my friends and sister to help check the prices and stock availability but… it was out of stock since 2 weeks ago and they are not going to bring in new stocks. 😩

It’s $15 more expensive than Singapore. Bo bian la. Even if we manage to buy from ebay, the shipping is not going to be cheap too.

Most stores in Bangkok only have the thermal bottle and tumbler. Coffee Press is out of stock. Lucky the Starbucks near my hotel is quite out of the way. 🤗

Having a mango sticky rice is the best part after massage. We had our lunch at 1.30pm, massage started at 5pm and it was a 3 hours long.

TC had the pork porridge with braised pork and soft boiled egg. It’s good but kind of reminds us of the braised duck porridge but thicker.

I had tom yam porridge with river prawn and minced pork, topped with a soft boiled egg. Not very tom yam leh, just spicy but good enough. Prawn wasn’t very fresh.

Overall, it’s good but probably not worth that much effort to travel all the way, unless you are going to the Rod Fai Night Market that was somewhere across the road.

Bath time!

The intergalactic bath bomb from Lush is so pretty, like paddle pop! A lot of glitter in my bath too. By the way, Lush bath bombs are cheaper in Bangkok than in Singapore.

I wanted chocolate cakes, the nutella cake I first ordered was not available. Changed it to Dark chocolate fudge, also don’t have. So fated la… I changed to the Milo sizzling roti instead.

Oh god. Thank you fate! Hahahhaa. This is awesome. It’s crispy roti prata at the bottom with cookies and cream ice cream, topped with marshmallows and milo bites with milo sauce. There’s this very nice burnt caramel fragrance, almost like creme brulee. Damn good. 😍

Quick breakfast. A lot of last minute shopping to do today.

Went to queue for that popular aka highly raved SabX2 Wanton Noodles.

Damn it. People who say this is good never had really good wanton mee before. Waste time queue.

But I must give credit to the stew pork. Very garlicky and the meat just melts in your mouth.

Got my crepe from Platinum Fashion Mall‘s basement!!

Swensen’s Ice cream to cool down and we actually napped a little. Too tired.

Omg loooo… the bunny so cute!!! But the little ornament no stock liao. Walao. I almost wanted to just buy the plant back.

Massage again!!! This time at Let’s Relax and I have to say that it was 100% shiok even my Mum and Sis agree. Plus, the mango sticky rice made us 120% shiok. Hahahha.

They regret never coming Let’s Relax more because my Sis la… she say the shop don’t look good. Walao… it’s the quality that matters okay. I can come here twice with the amount I spend at Healthland.

Omg… ChaTraMue’s Thai milk tea ice cream so nice. You can find it in Singapore too!
