33 . full of luck . olivia burton

Colleagues celebrated my birthday in office. Thank you ladies!

Then meet up with TC at Holland Village for dinner! Full of Luck wasn’t our initial choice but it looks more enticing than the rest.

Birthday pressie from TC. So pretty!!

koh grill & sushi bar . paris baguette

The chye peng stall near office is really generous with their servings, enough for 2 small eaters like me to share.

Already at the age or period of time where no new food places interest me, so I choose to have dinner at Koh Grill & Sushi Bar for my birthday celebration.

First time had the century egg tofu, I’m surprised that it’s actually good because I’m not a fan of century egg. The rest are just the usual must-haves.

_

This Paris Baguette cake is just mousse. LOL.

child to cherish

TC bought me a piggy bank as my birthday present because I have been looking for old-school plastic piggy banks. Hahahaha! Now we have couple piggies, since he got one for himself too.

Oh, I’m on medical leave because of my corneal abrasion, it’s still very painful.
Prepared a quick lunch.

Found this grilled corn at Ang Mo Supermart.

_

Had dinner with parents at Sushi Express and chose my own cakes again from Pine Garden; Gula Melaka Attap Chee and Triple Layer Chocolate. Attap Chee will be nice if the gula melaka was crunchy.

32 . new thai tanic

Tragic thing happened in the morning while I was still whatsapp-ing my Sister, I experienced a sudden sharp pain in my right eye. Couldn’t open my eyes but I somehow got to the kitchen, removed a fallen eyelash from the eye. It was still painful, like something was still stuck inside but there was nothing at all. Concluded that the eyelash could have caused a corneal abrasion.

Bought this eyedrop hoping that it would give me some sort of relief. Other than that I was a pirate most of the time.

Still got to go out to celebrate because it’s my day! Going stuff myself with loads of seafood at New Thai Tanic. I love seafood…

Just look at all that seafood. I’m aiming the Sri Lanka crabs, flowercrabs… Mmm Mm… After picking your crabs or prawns, place them in a box filled with crushed ice to put them in a sleep trance for 15 mins. Then the staff will help to prepare them for grilling.

There’s other selections other than seafood. Cooked food too.

It’s not exactly cheap to dine here? $70 per pax, so it will be good if you can chomp down two crabs, which I can manage easily.

Not a fan of the crab paste, so I ate it with pineapple fried rice. It’s like smoked mayo with rice.

Don’t forget the salad, the staff can prepare it for you too.

Each table gets a serving of banana pancake (actually prata), it was really really good. I should try making this myself.

Waffles and ice cream!

Hope my wishes comes true!

birthday eve

Feeling like prata but I got the murtabak instead. Heh heh. Fat die.

Steamboat for the night! Every food place was crowded in Punggol and so we decided to get some ingredients for steamboat instead.

_

Here’s my bday unicorn mugcake! I choose it myself. Yay! Too bad there’s only strawberry flavoured cake though.

No makeup. Hahaha!

thambi’s . dunstable swan jewel . yu cun claypot curry fish head

Had briyani with a colleague from India today. I have no idea why he thinks that Singaporeans do not eat Indian food unless they’re Indians? LOL. Like how is that possible? Unless the person tried and did not like Indian food at all.

Thambi’s at Amoy Market (recommended by Seth Lui) was not bad, a little too salty for me but not amazing.

I’ve been waiting documentaries about England’s history, Kings and Queens. There was one which has this Dunstable Swan Jewel. OMG, so pretty. Where can I find a replica?

And if you are interested in the documentary.

Mother’s Day dinner at Yu Cun Claypot Curry Fish Head! Have wanted to bring my family here to try.

The must-haves as usual (1) (2).

Tried the Mongolian pork ribs this time, I think it’s quite good too.

lunar new year day 4 – third steamboat in a row

Took AM leave today, pretty much expected the gathering to end late last night and I didn’t want to waste too much leave, so I took half day.

Didn’t want to get out of bed still and I like to slowly prepare before I leave the house. Until I don’t have much time for lunch. 😝

Grabbed my usual quick bites from 7-eleven while walking to office from the train station; an onigiri and soy milk.

Also armed with a few jellies that TC passed to be before I left for work. Jellies are yum. Sneaked a Ferrero Rocher in my bag too. Hehe. 😁

Steamboat again. I like steamboat but having it 3 times in a row is a bit too much. 😓

lunar new year day 3 – hai di lao

Got visiting today! Finally!

Uncle is treating us lunch at Hai Di Lao, IMM’s branch. First time visiting the actual restaurant, my first HDL experience was delivered. Still not a fan though, other than the service, the food is just alright. I do find the service a bit intrusive though. Hahahaha! Like when I’m putting food in mouth halfway, they will come asking, “Do you need this?” “Do you want a hot towel?” “Do you want a refill?” yada yada…

Got my nails done though. Speedy job, not bad la. Just note that if you already have got gelish on your nails, you will need to have it removed before they will do it for you. They don’t do removal.

Never take group photo with everyone. Alamak!

Second round, steamboat again!

Got peng cai too with all the goodness inside. Next time I wanna try preparing my own peng cai.

Lots of chill and chat nonsense.

lunar new year day 2 – temple . river hong bao

Went to Cheng Huang Temple. There’s so maaaaaaany lanterns.

There are food stalls here too, got myself a bird nest drink, not because it is nice. I felt dehydrated and that was the cheapest drink.

If you need to bring a girlfriend or boyfriend for CNY next year, come here pray. Lol.

_

Dinner before we head to River Hong Bao. Hungry and I refuse to get food from there. Queue was very long though, the ban mian was pretty good. 50 cents extra today.

_

Omgawd! Just nice got fireworks when we reach!

People mountain people sea. 😣

I think everyone was just sticking to each other. People getting in plus the people getting out after they are done seeing fireworks. 😵

Managed to catch the Fortune God sprinkling gold dust and numbers during the human jam.

Finally got in. 😥 Somehow I feel the setup is better than the previous years?
